Working under the direction of Warner Bros. + Reprise Records art director, Matthew Erny, we created a plethora of apparel design work for the indie/hippie/folksy musician Christofer Drew, aka Never Shout Never. It has been well over a year and a half since the completion of this project, but after randomly coming across photos of the ‘trippy lava lamp’ design on the internet this afternoon, I thought I would share.
We were really happy with how crude and unpolished the drawing and lettering came out, as Never Shout never very child-like look/branding. Also, we thought the ‘glow’ effect (on the right) was an nice touch – as that is how Jesse’s lava lamp looks at night – but the client didn’t agree.
