2nd Annual Big Damn Christmas Spectacular December 12th, 2012

If this poster design doesn’t get you excited about a Christmas-theme rock show, there is something wrong with you. 4 Bands — headlined by Big Dammit — pepper their usual rocking sets with magical Christmas tunes while you enjoy milk & cookies, gifts and stuffed stockings from the bands, drunken carols, and, of course, a very special visit from Santa Claus himself! ThisIsNotImportant does it again! This time being featured in the ‘Little Book Of Lettering‘ by Emily Gregory. A beautiful collection of lovely lettering and design, published by the always amazing Chronicle Books, the book showcases an assortment of artists and their inspiring lettering samples. Definitely a good way to get the design and drawing juices flowing. A few more shots below.

It may come as a surprise to some but we here at MAKE. are huge hip hop fans, like huge huge. For example, one of us can acapella rap the lyrics to Eminem’s ‘B. Rabbit v. Papa Doc’ (Abby) and the other listens to an unhealthy amount of hip hop (Jesse, I love the stuff). That being said, when we received word that we had the opportunity to do some logo design work for Big K.R.I.T., who has frequented our airwaves constantly for the past 2 years, we were elated to say the least! Below we will take you through some of the logo design process, show some of the presented concepts and disclose a bit about how the project panned out. Sadly, it wasn’t good.
